AgVantis has deep roots in the Farm Credit System. Established in 1916 by Congress, the Farm Credit System was designed to provide reliable, consistent credit and financial services to American farmers, ranchers, aquatic producers, and farm-related businesses through a member-owned cooperative structure.
AgVantis began as the information services department of the Farm Credit Bank of Wichita, serving the Ninth Farm Credit District. On August 3, 2001, the Bank and its Associations formed AgVantis, Inc. as a separate 4.25 corporation, chartered by the Farm Credit Administration, to meet the growing technology needs of the Farm Credit community.
Today, AgVantis is one of the longest-standing technology and business service providers in the Farm Credit System. Headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, AgVantis serves Farm Credit Associations across California, Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma. The organization is owned by its eight shareholder Associations, who actively shape its roadmap and services.
In 2024, AgVantis launched a bold transformation initiative—AgVantis 2.0—to modernize its technology platforms and deliver scalable, cloud-based solutions tailored to the unique needs of agricultural finance. This includes the implementation of the nCino Cloud Banking Platform and other tools designed to drive actionable insights, streamline operations, and support long-term growth for its Owner-Associations.
